Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 14, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how BDK Apps ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile applications (collectively, the "Apps"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.

By using our Apps, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

Our Apps are designed with a local-first architecture wherever possible. The content you create is stored directly on your device or in your private account. We minimize the collection of personal identifiers and only collect what is necessary for the App's functionality.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

We do not embed third-party analytics SDKs or tracking frameworks in our Apps. However, the following may be collected by platform providers:

  • App Store / Play Store analytics: Apple and Google may collect anonymized usage metrics (e.g., app launches, crashes) as part of their standard developer analytics. These are governed by Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies.
  • Subscription data: If you purchase a subscription, transaction records are managed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store and by our subscription management provider, Adapty. We receive anonymized subscription status information (e.g., whether a subscription is active) but not your payment details.

1.3 Information Sent to Third-Party Services

Certain features may require communicating with external services. When this occurs, we send only the minimum data necessary for the feature to function. This may include:

  • AI-powered features: When you use AI features, relevant content is sent to our secure server (Supabase Edge Function), which forwards it to an AI provider for processing. The content is used solely to generate a response and is not stored on our servers after the response is delivered.
  • Third-party data providers: Some Apps may send limited data (such as location information) to third-party APIs to retrieve relevant information (e.g., weather forecasts). No user identifiers are included in these requests.

2. How We Use Information

We use the limited information involved in our Apps' operation for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the core functionality of our Apps
  • To deliver AI-powered features and third-party data integrations
  • To manage subscription status and entitlements
  • To improve our Apps based on aggregated, anonymized crash reports provided by the app stores

We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or selling to third parties.

3. Data Storage & Security

Our Apps prioritize local, on-device storage wherever possible:

  • User-created content is stored locally on your device or in your private account.
  • Data transmitted to third-party services is sent over encrypted HTTPS connections.
  • We minimize server-side storage of personal content.

While we take reasonable measures to ensure data is transmitted securely, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device.

4. Third-Party Services

Our Apps may integrate with the following types of third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy governing how it handles data:

  • Adapty — Subscription and in-app purchase management. Adapty receives anonymized device identifiers to manage subscription entitlements. Adapty Privacy Policy
  • AI Providers — AI language models used for intelligent features. Content is sent via our secure server proxy and processed according to the provider's API data usage policies.
  • Supabase — Our server infrastructure that proxies requests to AI providers. Content passes through Supabase Edge Functions but is not permanently stored. Supabase Privacy Policy
  • Apple App Store / Google Play Store — Platform providers that handle app distribution, payments, and may provide anonymized analytics. Governed by Apple's and Google's respective privacy policies.

5. Children's Privacy

Our Apps are not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at the email address below, and we will take steps to delete such information.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

Your data retention depends on the App's architecture:

  • For Apps with local storage: your data persists on your device for as long as the App is installed. You can delete individual entries or all data within the App's settings. Uninstalling permanently deletes all locally stored data.
  • For Apps with account-based storage: you can delete your data through the App's settings or by contacting us.
  • Data sent to third-party services for processing is not retained on our servers. Refer to each third-party service's privacy policy for their retention practices.

For detailed instructions on deleting your data, visit our Data Deletion page.

7. Your Rights

For Users in the European Economic Area (GDPR)

If you are located in the EEA, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right of Access: You can access your data directly within the Apps.
  • Right to Rectification: You can edit your data at any time within the Apps.
  • Right to Erasure: You can delete your data within the Apps or by uninstalling them.
  • Right to Data Portability: Your data is accessible on your device or through your account.
  • Right to Object: Since we do not process your data for marketing or profiling, this right is inherently respected.

Our legal basis for processing data sent to third-party services is your explicit consent (by using the feature) and legitimate interest (providing the App's core functionality).

For Users in California (CCPA / CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the right to:

  • Know what personal information is collected — described in this policy.
  • Request deletion of your personal information — achievable by deleting data within the App or uninstalling.
  • Opt out of the sale of personal information — we do not sell your personal information.
  • Non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal, operational, or regulatory reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.

Continued use of our Apps after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
